How to make a phone call QR code in 3 steps

Getting a number dialable takes a moment.
  1. Type the phone number, including the country code for international callers.
  2. Style the code in step 2 if you like - colors, logo or a frame label.
  3. Download the PNG or SVG and test-scan it before printing it anywhere.

What happens when someone scans a phone QR code

The code stores a tel: link with your number in it. When a camera scans it, the phone shows the number and offers to open the dialer with it already entered, so the caller only presses the call button - nobody has to read small print or retype digits. iPhones and Android phones both handle this in their built-in camera apps, and older devices work with any free scanner app. Always include the country code, such as +49 or +1, so calls work from abroad as well, and test-scan the finished code with a real phone before printing it. A code that is too small is the usual reason a scan fails, so print it at least 2 cm wide with a clear margin around it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. Creating, styling and downloading QR codes here costs nothing, requires no registration and adds no watermark. There is no paid version of this tool.

Do the generated QR codes expire?

No. These are static QR codes: the content is encoded directly inside the pattern, so the code itself never expires and depends on no service. A URL code keeps working as long as the website it points to stays online.

Can I use the QR codes for my business?

Yes. The codes are yours to use for any purpose, including commercial projects, products and paid advertising. No attribution is required.

Which download format should I choose?

PNG is the safest all-round choice for screens and documents, JPG is fine when file size matters, WebP gives a smaller modern file, and SVG is the one to pick for print because it scales to any size without going blurry.

Can I change the design of a QR code later?

Yes. Your content and style settings stay saved in this browser, so reopening the page brings back exactly where you left off. You can then restyle the code and download it again at any time - just remember to replace previously printed copies.
